Very windy today but there are lovely walled gardens attached to the Priory in Priory Park, Prittlewell so Paul and I went there to sketch today. The gardens are lovely, this is the smallest one, with roses, lavender and herbs.

Wednesday 31.5.17
Paul teaches in Leigh on a Wednesday so we tend to meet up once he has finished his class. It was hot and sunny today with little shade. From Leigh we went to Gunners Park, an old army garrison in Shoebury. Had to stand for one of the sketches which was pretty uncomfortable, so the paint ran!

Wednesday 17.5.17
Met Paul after his art class in Leigh on sea and did the sketch of the fishing boats and then we drove on to Shoeburyness to sketch the Poppy Wave. The flies were awful for some reason, the guides working at the installation suggested it was because a storm was brewing. Fortunately got home before the rain.

The temperature has dropped!
Paul Alcock organised a sketching evening with the Chalk Collective but only the two of us turned up. It was far too cold to sit for long in Prittlewell Square so we went on to the Railway Pub. By that time I was too cold to care and my sketches are far from my best!!!

Unusually warm for April so have been going to the Cliff Gardens to sketch as much as possible. Have discovered that painting blossom in water colour ain´t easy!!!

Out early on a Saturday morning with Paul sketching
The cliff gardens are beginning to look lovely, the cherry blossom should be out by next week. The daffodils have gone but the tulips are beautiful. It was far colder than it has been so only got a couple of sketches done.
