Yet another on line exhibition with the Venezuelan water colour association.

Painted for an on line exhibition entitled, The Market.

 The Venezuelan water colour association have held an on line exhibition to mark International Water Colour Day on the 23rd November.  So, this is my interpretation of The Market.

Still Life

         I have been painting still life since the weather got colder, the perfect excuse to stay home! 

I was invited along to paint at the TEYC

 A friend invited me to join a group that painted this afternoon at the Thames Estuary Yacht Club.  The tide was coming in and the sky changed a lot whilst we were there which mad it challenging!

 This is the second painting of the cardoons from my brothers garden,  I have already started a third!!

 I haven't painted pure water colour in a couple of months but I came home from a visit to my brothers with these cardoon and just had to paint them.

Joined Paul at his exhibit venue on the Leigh Art Trail

 I joined Paul at Millys delicatessen for a couple of hours sketching on what turned out to be a very hot day.   This summer has been so variable that I really havent done much sketching at all!

Spent a chilly afternoon at a friends yoga retreat.

 There came a point when it was too cold to sit and sketch anymore!  So I didnt do as much as I had hoped.

Lillies

 I bought these lillies before the weekend expecting them to open quite quickly.  They didn't!  So I decided to go ahead and paint them in bud and will hopefully get a second painting out of them once they are fully in flower.  

El Agua, Water,

 A painting for the Venezuelan Watercolour Association, AVA virtual exhibition. "Water" was the theme of the exhibition, and although I live right on the water it has been far too cold to sit out and do a painting.   I have been enjoying the challenge of painting glass and including either pewter or brass trays so this is what I decided to submit.

These lillies have lasted so well.

 Eight days on and buds are still opening on these lillies,  they have also become more perfumed as the days pass.

Lemons!

 

These Lilies came from Aldi too!

 It was a race to paint the lilies, they literally open before your eyes, faster than I could paint them in fact!

Nothing like a challenge!

 I thought I would try and paint a crystal bowl, it was much more difficult than I thought it would be.  

I have painted enough flowers for now!!

 

Staying sane in lockdown means painting..... more spring flowers!

I struggled with this one!

 Deciding to leave the netting on the lemons was not the best of ideas, I really struggled to paint it.   

Spring is on the way!

              I have a new easel so went out and bought some spring flowers so that I could test it!!

As the day wears on the snow is melting.

 

Getting back into the habit of painting water colours again!

 It has been a bit of a battle, this is the third attempt at the bowl of lemons,  still not overly happy but, it is a start!

We had a little more snow during the night!

 It is bitterly cold as there is quite a strong wind so I am painting from the inside looking out!!

Attempting to get back to sketching and painting.

 I have been trying to finish off other projects so have hardly done any sketching or painting since before Christmas.  Today made a start drawing the cow parsley my sister and brother in law found for me using white pen on back paper, white pastel on black paper and a japanese calligraphy brush pen and fountain pen on brown paper. Ah, and fountain pen in my regular sketch book of a plant I have.  .
