London Urban sketchers organised a meet up in the Wallace Collection yesterday. A perfect place to spend a very wet day. https://www.wallacecollection.org/ The house has a warren of rooms full of a large and eclectic collection. The armoury is particularly interesting. It was hard to do the place justice as only dry media was allowed. Each room was decorated in a vibrant colour and it would have been great to be able to have used my water colours. Still using different media pushes you out of your comfort zone and many in the large group that went commented the same. Just behind the museum is St James' church on George Street which offered another dry and warm opportunity to sketch.
Photos of the sketchers group were taken by Sasala Wickramasinghe of the London Urban Sketchers group.

I have been incredibly lazy!
Have done very little sketching since I went out with Chalk_Collective in November. It was nice to meet up again this week. The grey and windy weather is not conducive to getting out and about.

I haven't posted in a while. 2 sessions with Chalk_Collective.
The first was from the bar of the Hilton Hotel at Southend airport. The bar overlooks the runway, the large windows meant for a challenging session as there were lots of reflections. Last night we went back to the Railway Pub. The jazz is always good and we were a bigger group than usual.

I thought I had posted these.
Last month we went to Benfleet Creek, and were supposed to go back last night, I even had my spot picked out but... bad weather meant an evening in the Railway Pub... which was no bad thing!
Instead of Benfleet Creek, the Railway Pub.
We were supposed to go back to Benfleet Creek and Barge Gladys but the bad weather meant we went back to the Railway Pub. No hardship as the live jazz was amazing.

first opportunity to sketch in months.
I went with a school group to Anbo Mountain yesterday, a two hour ride away, so the kids could ski and snow board... the alps it is not but...the kids had a blast whilst I sat inside...
