Yesterday and today. Topotepuy herb garden, the artichoke plants really gave me grief,  today a very dry Avila that suddenly burst into flames just as I was finishing a sketch.
Ayer y hoy. El jardin de hierbas en Topotepuy, la mata de alcachofa no fue nada facil,  hoy una Avila sumamente seco que justo cuando estaba terminando un sketch se rompio en llamas.

 

Latest sketches

It is really hot, dry and windy so sketching outside it not very pleasant.
Es demasiado caloroso, seco y con viento asi que pintar al aire libre no es muy placentera.

 The view from the Museo de Arte AfroAmericano towards the Avila is beautiful, it was windy so the hanging birds nests were dancing about and it felt quite fresh.
La vista desde el Museo hacia el Avila es fabuloso, habia brisa asi que los nidos colgantes bailaba y estaba fresco.

 My plants are looking very sorry for themselves.  Mis matas estan bastante triste por falta de lluvia y por los  fuertes vientos.

Experimenting with different materials, our instructions were that we had to use things we didnt normally use. I worked with a bamboo pen and water colour and water colour pencils.

La meta era experimentar con materials que usualmente no usamos para trabajar.  Dibuje con pluma hecha de bamboo con acuarela y lapices acuarelables.

A fantastic morning in Caricuao Zoo with USKCCS.  The zoo is lovely, well attended, shame we all got bitten by gnats!!
